What a pleasure to find oneself wandering through a well-landscaped green area when living in the severity of a choked-up international city. Today my directionless wanderings found me deep within verdant gardens playfully dressed in sympathetic designs befitting the affluence of the neighbourhood of Downtown Burj Khalifa…
Surroundings, terrain and scenery interplay artfully in well designed urban habitats: parks and public areas provide excellent human and natural settings for those who wish to be removed from their air conditioned apartments as much as the heat of Dubai allows. Like me.
Point me in the direction of a tightly manicured labyrinth or show me the way to a bed of subdued cultivars, and I am away. My senses take in the design, the planning and analyses that are the requisites for creating attractive, varied and sustainable urban landscapes which people like me use actively and thus bring to life.
Go on: get lost in there!
