Christmas in Dubai is, as odd as it may sound, rather extraordinary. Malls make every effort to look festive; friends of all denominations get right into the Christmas spirit, and invitations fly around. We were invited to Christmas eve at baby Ruth’s place (which turned into a doctor’s surgery), then Christmas Day at the Toobys (which turned very quickly into a nudie pool party).
Before and after these great get togethers friends popped in and pressies were exchanged. The Baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem indeed but the party was definitely held in Dubai…
