39 Weeks: Last of the Couples-Only Dinners

This may be one of our very last dinners together, sans child: tonight being 2nd December, Erroll and I, on the occasion of the UAE’s 42nd National Day, and his belated 35th birthday, took ourselves for some Asian-Fusion cuisine in the neighbourhood. What a way to close out four days of a long weekend, a birthday, reaching 39 weeks gestation and a National Holiday. Oh, and it was just me and him, and our smorgasbord of delicious dishes.

I read everywhere of the importance of taking time as a baby-free couple to dine together, take walks together, ramble about in the neighbourhood together, and have some fun, one on one. These and other romantic-companionate pursuits Erroll and I have been eagerly relishing over the past month. Others: holidays and staycations at various hotels, indulging in buffet dinners and al fresco poolside breakfasts, resort-stays and now, at the precipice of parenthood: cozy neighbourhood restaurant visits.

Its all I can muster these final moments as I shuffle along each step closer to delivery. At least Erroll shuffles slowly in sympathy with me. Such a wild couple of funsters that we are!
