Our thoughtful son made efforts to remain asleep – and to allow his parents a much needed sleep-in – this, the morning of my birthday. What a gift! Could not have wished for a better one, truth be told. An 11AM wake-up to the alarm clock of a hungry baby certainly beat the horrors of a 5AM nudge out from under our duvet.
The child woke once (or was it twice?) last night, nursed without screaming the house down, settled quickly and quietly. Then we all, as a family, slept in till the that magical time of 11AM. My birthday has begun with a whimper, not a bang. Yay!
