Coogee ’18: Cricket

January – February 2018

After watching big cousin Zak play cricket with his mates at Queens Park very early on in our trip, Kingsley was hooked. No longer interested in the four soccer balls I brought for the cousins to play with, he was determined to hold a bat and smash that ball.

From that day on, and at every kiddie opportunity, Kingsley asked to play cricket. But not just play at any position: bowling and fielding merely frustrated him. It was the hitting of the ball which took his imagination.

Soon we got him a blue bat. And it came with us everywhere even to grocery shopping at Coogee Bay Road.
