03-06-16 Fîvos

Friday 3rd June 2016
Our evening is spent in the company of Louisa and Fîvos at the pethikî harâ, among some Dutchies who have arrived in Saronîtha for summer. It’s a warm evening, Kingsley refuses to wear a top, and I have no energy or inclination to protest his decision. I actually don’t care! Both boys really like one another, with Fîvos being generous with his new toy- a light torch with shines the planets onto a dark surface. They climb a slide and swing together. Bliss. Until Kingsley escapes from the pethikî harâ, making a run for his new obsession: climbing the ágalma (marble monument) in the middle of the platèa.

Earlier, we leave the house as usual at noon after a breakfast/lunch feeding and cartoon festival. Nowadays Kingsley expresses his preferences clearly. And today’s was to enjoy mandarins and oranges on the balcony. Our day is spent beachside though there are waves and lots of seaweed it does not stop us from having a paddle. We beachcomb for rocks. I like the quiet of the beach today, but before long Kingsley sprints to the other side where we join some older ladies who are sunning their torsos on the cliff side like leather seals; one swims in clear water among rocks. Kingsley is keen for a swim too and through encouragement he jumps right in and into her arms. She of course is a JiaJia and is thrilled at hugging a ball by who is so much fun. Later we leave for our usual ice cream cone on the way home.
