May Day was a splendid date to attend Dubai’s stunning Polo & Equestrian Club for their wedding networking event. I was there of course as photographer and occasional writer for friend Rhiannon’s online wedding portal Bride Club ME.
A small gathering of Dubai’s wedding professionals, planners, vendors and even a smattering of brides attended. All had been invited to feast on the drinks and fare Dubai’s Polo Club chefs are able to create for a memorable wedding.
The aim of course of such an event is for the venue to showcase its grounds and to lure pros and brides alike to consider the space for their wedding.
House-made cupcakes and endless canapés kept us well fed. Wedding chat combined with delicious champagne made for a welcome combination which caused us all to get into the swing of the evening and make new friends.

Dubai’s Polo & Equestrian Club: the view from our seats over the polo fields: f/16; 1/80sec; ISO-250
The view did not fail to impress: western light as the sun fell to the horizon caused a glow upon the outdoor area where weddings are staged; the polo fields a deep verdant green, and luxury villas, palm trees and landscaping turning pink-gold with the setting sun.
Chatter turned to the creation of weddings: from grand events to private celebrations, creative themes, simple or lavish decorations, wedding cakes, photographers, entertainment, makeup and menus…
Lucky me got to mingle with talented folk: make up artists Dee & Dal (twin, above); wedding creationist Masha Cain from Fabulous Day JLT (who’s table settings and cakes are featured here); and old friends too such as Clare Ebbs, wedding planner, from The Perfect Moment.
The prettiest bride-to-be, hailing from Aberdeen, sat at our table for a while and as would be expected, talk on her own wedding was encouraged…a kind of de-stressing session!
Bride Club ME of course stood tall and proud at the Polo & Equestrian Club that evening, as the region’s premier online portal for all things wedding inspiration. While Rhiannon mingled, the instant I was no longer behind my Nikon, I got snapped!
