We’re at the paediatrician Dr. Lambrou today for Elektra’s follow up and Keanu’s first appointment. Neither have fever, neither a temperature, nor need antibiotics and most certainly do not need a cough suppressant syrup. The good doctor tells me a golden nugget: you must never suppress a cough in babies. All that phlegm must come out. And with our two tiny patients it’s through their snotty noses. She cleans out those noses with saline and both babies breathe easier, instantly.
In their weigh ins, Keanu is a full half a kilo heavier than his dainty sister. Our boy is 9.3kg at almost 9 months of age.
