Kingsley: Rusks

Friday 1st August 2014

Two teeth have made it their home in Kingsley’s lower jaw for two months now. The child has been great about it all – the discomfort I mean – however today (and last night) King didn’t rest much. I put it down to teething, for he is a picture of health, alert an active, otherwise.

We have of late taken to dining as a family around the dinner table; you know, all three of us seated for breakfast and lunch and even early dinners. King gets fed by me but is forever staring at his dad. I figure Erroll is the manly role model and I am the nurturing Udder Woman.

When neither food nor boob provides satisfaction for the child, out comes the rusk. We hope it brings relief on the gums and a stop to the grumbles…

One week till King turns 8 months of age. Two teeth already and a very grizzly nature these past days.

We wonder whether its teething that is causing King to carry on. A rusk does not seem to help, even though it says it will on the box.
