Kingsley: Ramadan Day 20

Saturday 19th July 2014

We hung out together today all day, Kingsley; just you and I. Didn’t even leave the apartment! It was our special twenty four hours glued to each others side. We woke up side by side, ate together in the kitchen, bathed, too. You accompanied me to the loo and we watched Baby Einstein’s counting episode snuggled in bed together.

In the kitchen over morning tea (banana mash with yoghurt) we called your Jiajia Dora in summery Greece, and during lunch we spoke with Godmother Number Two, Sylvia, in chilly Sydney. While in Shanghai, your father skyped with us twice (while we were in bed!) and he cannot wait to get back to you now that he has been away for two days. I know you miss him too because when his face pops up you smile that dimpled smile and your eyes shine.

As for you and I – well, we lazed about taking three naps in our family bed, but in the afternoon a breakthrough: what a surprise! Before my very eyes, you sat up all by your very self. No assistance necessary. I of course ran for the camera. Baby, you can sit up all by yourself now!
