Kingsley: 16-2-14 Sniffles

Its as saddening an event as can be: a newborn coming down with a cold: sniffles, coughs, runny noses and watery eyes. As parents and grandparents we are moved to tears watching our baby endure through the discomfort, and we make every effort to give comfort and tender loving when this happens.

Yesterday, the day we got back from Athens, our boy Kingsley was struck with bugs: his very first cold. I didn’t escape it either: a sore throat and stuffy/snotty nose are unpleasant but even worse when breastfeeding, for there is not much that can be taken to alleviate the symptoms, just a handful of paracetamol and liters of water.

For our boy, the doctor prescribed saline nose spray, antibiotic eye drops and paracetamol syrup, all thrice a day, and none of which Kingsley countenances without a fight. Our little sniffly fighter, you will get better soon, you can count on it.
