The stats are in, and they are off the charts! The birth of Kingsley Charles Hartley, son to Erroll and Alice Hartley, made headlines around the globe (well, in our tiny universe anyway). Our infant son is stout, strong and long. Making his first appearance through the sunroof, it was love at first sight for both parents. Erroll, wearing the blue scrubs of a theatre nurse, got to hold our baby first and I remember so well he breaking down from happiness. The heavily sedating drugs made the entire scene surreal…
Kingsley Charles Hartley, born to mother Alice and father Erroll on Saturday 7th December, at 10:05PM by caesarean section at the City Hospital, Dubai. Dr. Christian Jozse did the honours of literally yanking the newborn out from my sun-roof, as his legs were wedged right up under my busted right ribs and the child was not going to come out the conventional way.
He bellowed loudly and looked already a strapping lad, glorious and golden, coming out at 55cm long and weighing just under 4kg. Ten fingers and ten toes, and all other anatomical parts perfectly proportioned and in their proper place.
Welcome to the world, our beloved son!
