Paris: Day 1 Sceaux

Thursday 22nd September 2016

Ahh Paris in early Autumn…you tease, you! Attempting right now to find fault in your etherial charm is impossible, for you are beyond my ability to chastise. Sunny yet mild; green yet deciduous, you provide ambrosia to our eyes and all the right colours: blues, oranges, greens and apricots. Even with red eye travel via taxi, plane, train then foot, we refuse to rest once at our accommodation. Hotel Corbert. Immediately once bags are down, clothes changed and wifi connected we hit the sweet cobbled streets of Sceaux.

Only 10 kilometers separates Sceaux from the Centre of Paris but this commune of wealthy residents and superb gardens is a world away from the grit and glamour of the City of Lights. We are choosing for our first three days in Paris to give its centre a wide berth – especially since it’s the weekend. Kingsley agrees to continue exploring the unique villages that make up Sceaux and I could not be happier…
