Wedding Bouzouki

Wedding Bouzouki Live

Unlimited staccato is the sound of the Bouzouki, the classical Greek instrument which was known to many pre-Hellenic cultures like Egypt, Assyria, and China. And during the Byzantine period, the Bouzouki was known as the Tampoura. The three-string Bouzouki was reintroduced and brought to Greece by immigrants from Asia Minor and Turkey in the early 1900’s. It is played with a pick, and in the past was played with a piece of wood carved from a cherry tree, giving its distinctive sound.

In the 1950’s the Bouzouki with four pairs of strings was introduced. And in 2008, one of the world’s best Electric Bouzouki players was invited to Sydney, to create some tasty tunes for this the bride and groom but mostly for their guests, who love to let it shake loose…and in the name of one damn fine wedding!

About Alice

I run, I jump, I sing, I dance. Whether climbing trees, walls or stairs I do it at a clip. When out, my date is always Trusty Nikon (who never lets me down in the attire stakes; so smart in his black, with a pop of red!). Where does it lead, this love affair of mine? Well, its lead me to Dubai, via the matrimonial aisle, thanks to a gorgeous husband who whisked me from Coogee beach, Sydney into the Arabian Peninsula - to my new home, Dubai. I am a freelance writer and photographer and my wish is to snap away, to scribe and to share it all with you. Enjoy.
