35 Weeks

From the size of a poppy seed to a pumpkin! This is how Seahorse grows and grows and in 5 weeks time will come out. Dear God…be born the size of a pumpkin?? I shudder at the thought. But today, I rejoice in knowing that safely tucked inside of me is our darling, bucking Seahorse who now measures the size of a large honeydew melon.

Today is our anniversary day; every Saturday Erroll and I do a little dance and give thanks that Seahorse develops stronger and more able to withstand the elements were he or she be born right now. And right now we are 35 weeks along!

Because it’s so snug in my womb, Seahorse no longer does somersaults, but the number and intensity of those kicks is causing internal bruising. Kidneys are fully developed now, and the liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — Seahorse now shall spend the next 5 weeks putting on weight.
