Le Méridien Abu Dhabi

4 out of 5 aint bad, not for a hotel; not when it houses an adult’s playground ready to be explored complete with organic garden, gastro pub, sustainable cuisine signature dining, and – who can resist – a certified practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine waiting for me and my weary bones at the Spa. All this, tucked neatly within the sunny courtyard of Abu Dhabi’s Le Méridien. And did I mention the private beach facilities within a moment’s walk ready to be christened with my sea-splashes…

If I were to describe this hotel it would be as one of the friendliest and the coziest resort hotels I have visited. Exceptional, personalised service can be expected, and such a pretty, delicately maintained verdant environment for us, its guests, serves to soothe frayed nerves. That courtyard I spoke of before – Le Meridien Village – is recognized and famed as the main attraction of the hotel. It lies in within cool, well shaded scenic gardens and comprises picturesque walkways, metres from the sea, surrounded by a unique mix of eateries, representing cuisines from France, Thailand, Italy, England and America.

By night, Abu Dhabi’s skyline glows gold. The view is magnificent and since I was fortunate to be invited into the hotel’s Business Lounge, I received the very best of Abu Dhabi’s dusk…
