4 out of 5 aint bad, not for a hotel; not when it houses an adult’s playground ready to be explored complete with organic garden, gastro pub, sustainable cuisine signature dining, and – who can resist – a certified practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine waiting for me and my weary bones at the Spa. All this, tucked neatly within the sunny courtyard of Abu Dhabi’s Le Méridien. And did I mention the private beach facilities within a moment’s walk ready to be christened with my sea-splashes…
If I were to describe this hotel it would be as one of the friendliest and the coziest resort hotels I have visited. Exceptional, personalised service can be expected, and such a pretty, delicately maintained verdant environment for us, its guests, serves to soothe frayed nerves. How lovely to walk about the hotel’s ground and chance upon vegetables growing in the restaurant’s gardens…
That courtyard I spoke of before – Le Meridien Village – is recognized and famed as the main attraction of the hotel. It lies in within cool, well shaded scenic gardens and comprises picturesque walkways, metres from the sea, surrounded by a unique mix of eateries, representing cuisines from France, Thailand, Italy, England and America.
By night, Abu Dhabi’s skyline glows gold. The view is magnificent and since I was fortunate to be invited into the hotel’s Business Lounge, I received the very best of Abu Dhabi’s dusk…
