39 Weeks

Goodness!! Today, the 30th November 2013, marks something extraordinary and hair-raising at the same time: Seahorse is now 39 weeks along! One more week till our beloved, wanted bebe makes an appearance and daddy-o Erroll conducts the ribbon-cutting at City Hospital.

But I am in no rush to hurry this process along, even though the strain of heaving around an extra 20 kilograms is enormous and even my ribs feel broken. Mercifully the sciatica of the past fortnight seems to have abated, and today I shall meet a friend, Lena, by our rooftop pool for laps to ensure that blissful sense of weightlessness that comes only from water immersion sooths all my near fractured bones and bunched up internal organs.

And here is why: first image: Alice at 5 weeks pregnant (late April), and Alice at 38 weeks pregnant (late November). Have I really expanded from this…

Now to this?
