Just as the leaves change in autumn, and bulbs sprout in spring, so the consumer enjoys the ability to change their look and try a new approach to her make up for sunny days ahead. Its officially ‘transeasonal’ time – that evolving juncture of year when coats are shed, and skin is scrubbed clean, cheeks are made ready for pops of colour. Yes, its time for a new make up look…
With the changing season, the greens from spring evolve and develop. Multifaceted emerald sparkles and fascinates, bringing luxury and elegance to the palette. Bold blues of Mykonos lend a classic, relaxed and edgy look.
Exotic acai – a mysterious and rich hue of purple – is inspired by the darker side of nature: the beauty of agate, wrought from molten masses of ancient lava. And can be incorporated with other colors to create a number of powerful combinations. Pair the elegant shade of purple with emerald on your eyelids for an air of youthful royalty.
A natural coupling is vivacious pink with anchoring lichen green, producing a dynamic juxtaposition that captures both ends of the seasonal spectrum.
Having said all that about colour, soft brown shadows are universally flattering and look modern when worn as a monochromatic smoky eye.
How? Trace lash lines with a black / brown pencil. Not a problem if the liner isn’t perfectly straight, since you’ll be smudging it anyway. Next, apply brown shadow across lids and under lower lashes, connecting it at the outer corners. Blend well and use one coat of mascara. Finish off with a dusting of contouring powder to create the illusion of structured cheekbones. All you need to do is suck in your cheeks and brush the powder down the hollow area.
Done!
