30 Days of Gratefulness-Ramadan Part 12: Hide & Seek

Look at modern Dubai’s shimmering skyline and imposing architecture. Oops. Wrong article. Get back to nature, Alice; you really should get out of that office, and into the light.

Well my own advice I certainly took, and along with it came my senses and a renewed wonder at what nature presents for our viewing pleasure…but hides well enough for us to get to discover. Kind of like a game of hide & seek…

Living in the concrete heart of the financial district of Dubai means a daily ritual of praising modern architecture’s miracle structures and skyscrapers; my surrounds. And I do give thanks for the triumph of engineering excellence which allows me to live in a tower of fifty storeys height.

There are however dedicated oases – quiet, verdant, peaceful places separated from traffic bustle – that blossom in living colour and give breath to the toxicity of citylife. Nature hides them well, and I seek them out…

About Alice

I run, I jump, I sing, I dance. Whether climbing trees, walls or stairs I do it at a clip. When out, my date is always Trusty Nikon (who never lets me down in the attire stakes; so smart in his black, with a pop of red!). Where does it lead, this love affair of mine? Well, its lead me to Dubai, via the matrimonial aisle, thanks to a gorgeous husband who whisked me from Coogee beach, Sydney into the Arabian Peninsula - to my new home, Dubai. I am a freelance writer and photographer and my wish is to snap away, to scribe and to share it all with you. Enjoy.
