Kingsley: 27-1-14 Sleeping

Baby Hartley seems to want to sleep alot still during the day! He sleeps stretches of sometime 4 hours a night, sometime 2 hours. Come the morning, this broken sleep causes me endless distress when I look in the mirror such are the bags under my eyes. However my spirits rise when I look upon our son and lay witness to his happy and healthy disposition. The boy grows and grows. Kingsley seems not to be disturbed by such irregular slumber. He is smiling and cooing now! In fact during the day all he really wants to do is drink milk and fall right back to sleep. Suckle and sleep. Sleep and suckle. That’s our program du jour.

You see, babies can’t tell the difference between night and day. They don’t produce enough melatonin yet, and as I know very well, require frequent feedings. However, to make myself feel better (I received all of 5 hours total sleep last night), here is evidence of sufficient nourishment and a warm comfy bed: the sleeping Kingsley at 7 weeks of age…

Sleep routine? At 7 weeks?? I think not, mumma...
