Sunday 5th August 2018

Quite by accident and due to not bringing bottles of water with us, we stumbled upon a children’s paradise by the sea today. As Kingsley and I hopped on the 122 bus service bound for any old beach it occured to me we will parch without water. Out we hop at Lagonisi…and aren’t I glad we did.

Here, in a hidden cove a magical beach lay before us filled with pleasant sea bathers and lots of well-behaved children. It was actually Kingsley who insisted we ‘stop here’.

So we buy our water and find wild figs to pluck, he drops his load in a bush and onward we trek through an opening to bliss…

Instantly Kingsley makes friends with little Konstandinos age 5 whose Ba-Bah, Ilias, is a pilot for VVIPs. Everyone had plenty to chat about while swimming in the clear sea. The kids’ affection for one another is obvious, so much so that Kingsley feels compelled to give as a gift to his new mate his own brand new ‘concrete maker’.

Hugs, kisses and pledges both families will return to Lagonisi follow…
