Greece ‘18: Hanging with Mumma

May 2018

For a good three weeks now it’s been the Aliki & Dorøtheos show. Day and night us two make up the team for exploring, swimming, climbing, sleeping. JiaJia Dora of course is our matriarch tending to our nourishment and housing us, and negotiating each night with her grandson for the rights to the Telly.

Outdoor pursuits however are strictly my mumma domain. Save for her afternoon ritual which the child adores – fourno, platéa, pedikì harâ, supermarket – JiaJia treats us to home cooked meals and fresh linen. These I truly appreciate (zero food prep, can’t remember last time I meal-planned) and keep out of her kitchen as much as possible. Which leaves the child and I to go on adventures.
