04-02-18 Oz Day 14

Sunday 4th February 2018

Three important events ococured today…and I am exhausted. Church then Fire Brigade then BBQ at Zennia & Steve’s in Carlingford. Kids a-plenty, back yard cricket and soccer with Maxi & Marcus, Kingsley’s god brother. Its 7pm, King and I are in the Queen Victoria Building parents room, he’s watching a show on the free tablets and my headache is raging on.

We’ve been to church this morning meeting JiaJia Dora there, then after communion walked from Taylor Square to the QVB to catch the Carlingford express bus luckily stumbling on the City Fire Brigade open day. An hour we’re still there as Kingsley operates the water hose. Fireman Samantha herself has two little blondies photos of whom she shows us while Kingsley beams that he’s become a fireman for the day.

We’re given a NSW Fire & Rescue Kiddies bag to take home in which is a book of Lego firefighter stickers with the logo ‘get down low and go, go, go’, a Brigade Kids Activity Book and – my personal favourite – not one but two wooden spoons engraved with Keep Looking When Cooking.
