Exactly 3 years have passed between these two images: Erroll holding on to his son then and now. And not much has changed since, other than Kingsley’s height and weight.
This bond which began early and solidified when I returned to work had its genesis when Erroll began wearing Kingsley in the carrier our dear friend Anne gave me. Twice a day Erroll would bring Kingsley to me at the office so that he can breastfeed. At 11am then at 2pm they’d turn up, I’d take Kingsley to the ladies prayer room and hungry like a starved child Kingsley was latched on.
Now these two spoon in bed. My boobs have been released from 3.4 years of hard labour.
