20-10-16 Burj Park & Al Bahar Pool

Thursday 20th October 2016

The last day of the working week for half the population but not us: Erroll has been off for a few days; Vicki is between jobs and her bestie is in Dubai from Glasgow and I am still answering friends’ (well meaning) questions on whether I am ‘ready’ to return to work (no).

So this our last day before flying to Amsterdam we spend as friends together at a Burj Park for a walk and then to Souk Al Bahar for swimmies. The weather is warm to hot but once under shade the Arabian Gulf breezes cool us down. Pool water however is blessedly tepid (after eight years a UAE resident my skin has become accustomed to, and craves, warm waters).

Kingsley and I spend hours in the pool with Claudes the lifesaver our only companion. The child holds his wee these past couple of months, his control is so tight he goes upon request when under the outdoor showers and most certainly never in the pool. Claude’s wife is pregnant and in exactly six months a father! Here’s our day today…
