Kingsley: Paris Autumn ’16

Thursday 22nd September 2016

Three years I have been dreaming of bringing Kingsley to France, ever since I lugged my pregnant body onto a plane back in 2013 to visit Kym (who had given birth to darling Natan just five months previously in a Parisian hospital). After such a splendid week together, posing in front of the Tour Eiffel, drinking wine spritzers at the many cafes we stopped at, and strolling arm in arm through cobbled streets, I promised Kym my return, and set my sight firmly on Paris for young Kingsley to experience.

Well early hours today I make good on this promise, exactly three years later. At 1:30am Erroll and I as gently as possible wake, dress and ready Kingsley for the red eye. By 1:45am the three of us were in a cab; at 2am we are checked in; 3am we make our way through Duty Free and once on board, at 4am our Emirates Airlines Pilot orders all ground staff to exit the aircraft as EK071 is bound for Paris…
