28-08-16 Tribute

Sunday 28th August 2016

I am writing to pay tribute.

This past week has been good to me. Many dear friends have paid Casa Hartley a visit and even from abroad they have traveled. Mumma Dôra continues to pump out cake after tôrte (like we need more sweet carbohydrates in our lives), and some of my dearest family and friends are progressing with very healthy pregnancies. My hair has been restored to dirty dark blonde, I’ve been finally waxed (after six months of insane regrowth can you believe). We’ve even attended a kiddie concert at a local mall (wild times indeed!). Plus, I have let go of one of my neuroses, and allowed Kingsley to taste junk food: he ate fist after fistful of Frito Lay crisps while his JiaJia Dôra got her hair restored at the salon on Friday. Calming my inner beast down while in public to condone this crisp-eating episode took a lot of self-work. Plus I did not want to embarrass the hairdresser’s assistant who offered him the entire packet (!). I still have to remind myself, days later, that Kingsley will not sustained damage by eating the vile cheesy crisps.

Today only healthful homemade goodness passed Kingsley’s mouth so I am feeling less distraught about the crisps. Plus we entertained dear friend Tati for hours drinking tea and eating walnut and yoghurt cake as we embraced her new soon to be role as a Mumma to her miracle baby who shall enter the world in April. Erroll arrived back from a week’s layover in Australia where he visiting his mum and best friends., returning to his family with a spring in his step. Babies, pregnancies, best friends, family, good food; so much tribute to pay on this great Sunday…
