25-08-16 Metro, Tram, Choo-Choo Train

Thursday 25th August 2016

In order to get to the Barney concert on time at the Marina Mall, JiaJia Dôra, Kingsley and I had to take all sorts of transportation means, a wildly exciting prospect for us all. For which toddler doesn’t adore jumping in and out of moving locomotives?? Today we walked loads, traveled via Metrô and tram, and at our final destination – the Marîna Mall – even enjoyed the colourful indoors choo-choo train that had every toddler there enthralled and begging their tired folks to ride.

Barney himself was a hit, once he finally made an appearance on stage at 4:30pm (we had arrived at precisely 12:30pm – that’s four hours of toddler wrangling before the bloody main event) but with the entire ground floor of the mall being literally packed with prams, buggies and hundreds of wired kids /weary mums and dads, I just couldn’t deal with the prospective crowds stampeding to get out once the concert finished, so we snuck out early, after only four songs. Kingsley was none the wiser; just star struck that he was at a concert again (Alvin and the Chipmunks but three weeks ago!)

He must think his old Mumma is a real party GURL with taking him to all these concerts in malls. Wild times, son! Enjoy while you can before I put an end to us watching gigantic felt-covered creatures singing autotune at our suburban malls…
