With a population of 1,636, Brunswick Heads is what you would consider a sleepy town. It is filled with happy families, chilled out surfers dudes, and unique cafes along the main drag. Year round it hosts small scale community oriented and family friendly festivals. Apart from all this appeal is a delicious sweetness to the air and a terrific beach culture.
Set on the coast along the mouth of the Brunswick River, and nestled within the breakwater there is safe and peaceful Torakina Beach, otherwise known as Baby Beach, which is where these photos were taken. The day Oma brought us here, the weather was glorious (considering it was the depths of winter). And as you will see, the heat was such that we all could do was strip off and go for a splash, making friends along the way…
