Kingsley: Milestones Achieved

I am the proudest Mamaa on earth, for our nine month old boy Kingsley is growing in leaps and bounds. His development is on track and I enjoy watching him bounce, babble and play peek-a-boo…

On the social/emotional side, Kingsley very rarely is afraid of strangers, and is hardly ever  clingy with familiar adults (me, Erroll). Phew, no drama.

On the communications front, I think he may understand “no” (or at least my stern voice), makes a lot of different sounds like “mamamama” and “bababababa”,  copies sounds and gestures of others, and is beginning to use fingers to point at things.

From a cognitive perspective, I have observed Kingsley watch the path of something as it falls, looks for things he sees me hide, enjoys playing peek-a-boo, places everything in his mouth, moves things smoothly from one hand to the other and picks up small objects with his pincer-like grip. So progressed he is!!

As for movement, well this is where Kingsley really excels: he stands, holding on; when he is particularly delighted with himself, he lets go, first one hand then the other! He can get into sitting position (harder than you think); has been sitting without support for a few months now; pulls to stand and is a champion crawler.
