Reading

After a very long time browsing magazines, brochures, pamphlets, newspapers and work-related material, a particular novel from a (then) first-time writer called out to me to be consumed. And bear in mind it has been a very long time since I indulged in a good book. Up until now the growing stack of magazines, let alone my online reading addiction, has hampered my desire to pick up a paperback and…and just read.

Well I am once again hooked: hooked on reading.

The book I just put down, satisfied, patting myself on the back for having started, and finished is Less Than Zero. Year: 1985. Novelist: Bret Easton Ellis. But more on this later.

My wish is for this page to bring you the joys that shall infuse my soul from reading the miriad of eclectic books and novels stuffing my bookcases – some historical, some biographical, some fictional, some based purely in the land of fantasy – all hand selected or gifted to me by those who know of my violent love of the written word.

Lets see how much of my life is reflected in the content of the book which chooses me at any one time…”Go on,” it coos…”Pick me up! I’m yours. An open book…”
