Kingsley: Crouching

Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Whoa, son. How is it that you don’t sit still in one spot any longer? At seven months, you are becoming independent and developing serious strength of limb and determination of mind, Kingsley. From picking up a stuffed toy animal to crawling from place to place, I am a delighted mother indeed watching how you learn to control your environment. You are the proudest when you figure out that being in control is a lot of fun.

As you become more mobile and inquisitive, your development takes off…and it scares me! So last week you showed me how you can sit on your own. This week I clapped and cheered as you crawled at a clip across the room. But today you have really thrown me, Kingsley. Not many babies this age can pull themselves to a standing position. You are almost there! Cruising along the edge of the couch is right around the corner…
